The Misunderstood Light
What dazzles the eye as brilliance is not the Source. The radiant beams are perception, mental images projected upon the unseen screen of Spirit. They are beautiful, yes, but they are effects, not Cause.
The true light is darkness, stillness, silence. The unseen womb of Mind from which all mental energy arises. The bright light is merely the perceptive echo, the shadow-play born from this invisible depth.
The Nature of Cause and Effect
- Cause: Unseen Mind, silent and infinite.
- Effect: Perceptive brightness, form, and motion.
The Mind is All, yet what you call “the world” is a perceptive pattern within it. The shining scenes, the vivid colors, the dramas of life, all are products of mental energy, not the energy itself.
To awaken is to recognize this distinction: the radiance you perceive is not reality, it is the experience of reality.
Why It Matters
If you cling to the brightness, you remain bound to the show. You love the effect more than the Cause, the flickering reflection more than the eternal flame. But when you turn back into the unseen stillness, when you rest as silence itself, you return to the Source of perception.
From there, you may still enjoy the radiance, but you are no longer deceived. You know its worth: a passing experience in the eternal Mind.
A Simple Practice
- Look at the bright light in your life – the forms, the events, the sensations.
- Ask: What is this appearing within?
- Withdraw attention into the silent space behind it.
- Rest there. Recognize the unseen as the real Light.

The unseen darkness is not absence. It is fullness.
It is the still and silent Mind that creates the brilliance of perception.
To awaken is not to reject the radiance, but to know it for what it is a perceptive product of mental energy, shining for a moment, then fading, while the true Light never moves.
