“The All Is Mind; The Universe Is Mental.” – The Kybalion
Have you ever saw a picture or a portrait of yourself and didn’t recognize yourself in the picture or portrait at all. I mean looked right at yourself in the portrait, said “That’s nice,” and just remained unaware that it is a great image of you (if one could ever be captured)? If the answer is “Yes,” I totally understand. I’ve been there. You may be doing it right now. Look at the image above. The image above is a representation of you, the Spirit of intelligence and power embodied in perception. Perception of flesh, world, and daily life. An infinite and eternal Soul, having the experience of its own mental power.
The above quote from The Kybalion is a powerful bit of information put down in the perception of living to awaken you to the ultimate reality. The fact that the Mind is All there is, and the Universe that you’re experiencing is made from your own Mental energy. You can’t see the energy. What you see is the Mental perception that the energy is creating for the infinite and eternal Mind to have the experience of being finite and captured in time. When you look at it, you can’t help but feel how amazing this Mental machination is, an eternal Soul, having the experience of a short life. It’s incredible! Look at it, Mental perception! Feel around, take a deep breath! It’s amazing, isn’t it? My daughter, Christian, calls the perception of her body a meat suit. She knows she is an eternal Spirit wearing the perception of being a female human. Really, it’s the perception of the Universe that is tightly stretched around the Mind at a particular point of observation. Even though she understands her true being, from time to time she gets lost in the Mental process and becomes discouraged. That’s easy to understand when you consider how powerful the perception is upon the Mind. The day to day grind can make you forget that the key to control is Mind over Matter (mental energy). For thine is the power, the kingdom, and the glory. Amen.
Just remember, when you see an image like the one above, don’t be so caught up in the character you’re playing in this Mental machination that you don’t recognize a representation of your true being. Amen.
Sincerely,
One Iam

The Principle of Mentalism
The Kybalion’s statement, “The All is Mind; the Universe is Mental,” encapsulates a fundamental Hermetic principle known as Mentalism. Let’s explore this concept:
- The All: Refers to the underlying reality—the source of everything. It is beyond our material senses and remains unknowable and indefinable. We can think of it as an universal, infinite, living Mind.
- The Universe: All that we perceive—the material world, energy, life phenomena—is a mental creation. It exists within the Mind of The All. In other words, the Universe is a grand mental projection.
- Mental Creation: Our experiences, thoughts, and perceptions are woven from this mental energy. The Universe, both as a whole and in its smallest parts, resides within the Mind of The All.
Implications of Mentalism
- Understanding Reality: Recognizing that everything is a mental construct allows us to grasp the laws governing the Mental Universe. It explains psychic phenomena, consciousness, and the interconnectedness of all things.
- Mastery of Mind: By acknowledging the Mental Nature of the Universe, we gain a powerful key. With this understanding, we can intelligently apply mental laws rather than stumbling in the dark.
- Mind Over Matter: Energy, power, and matter are subordinate to the Mastery of Mind. As an old Hermetic Master once wrote, “He who grasps the truth of the Mental Nature of the Universe is well advanced on The Path to Mastery.”
The Perception of Self
Your daughter’s playful term—“meat suit”—captures the essence. We inhabit these physical forms, but our true essence transcends them. We are eternal Spirits experiencing finite lives through the lens of perception.
So take a moment. Breathe. Feel the wonder of this Mental dance—the interplay of Spirit and perception. You are both the observer and the observed, the creator and the created. And in this intricate tapestry, remember: Mind shapes reality, and perception weaves the fabric of existence.
